It’s time to live intentionally. Incorporate an affirmation into your routine.
Three years ago if you would’ve asked me what my thoughts are on affirmations, they would’ve been non-existent. What type of power could it really have?
One day I was at a low point. No money in my bank account, anxiety was through the roof, I was lost, and trying to figure out my next move. I remember sitting at work thinking something has to change. As a result, I tried looking for direction. I needed something to point me down the right path.
Not just any book, but You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero (amazing read btw).
Jen talks about the struggles she has been through and what sparked that initial change in her life. She goes onto explain how ultimately your mindset is what will help you persevere. One important key to unlocking it — Affirmations. I took this as a sign and decided to give it a try. That day, I incorporated two different affirmations into my daily routine.
An affirmation is a phrase that serves as a reminder for you to live intentionally. They’re versatile. You can have more than one, to serve various facets of your life. Affirmations can be as simple or as detailed as you’d like. It all depends on what your goal is. You can research different options or just come up with one on your own.
It is all up to you.
After a few weeks, there was a shift. My mindset transformed. By consistently repeating my affirmations upon starting my day I found that my focus zeroed in. They became a reminder or a prompt on what my priorities were. I was able to concentrate on what was important in my life, and was no longer easily distracted.
